Celebrating VE Day 8th May
The 8th May 1945 marked the end of World War Two in Europe. The day was one of celebration in Britain and saw people coming together to enjoy the victory in streets up and down the country.
On Friday 8 May 2020 the country celebrated the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe day.
Together we paid tribute to the service and sacrifice of the entire Second World War generation, from British, Commonwealth and Allied Forces to evacuees and those who served on the home front.
Despite our current situation and practising social distancing many of our community channelled the war time spirit and celebrated in their own way on this historic day.
