St Teresa’s Snow Procedures

In the event of snow:

We will always aim to keep St Teresa’s open. However, the service we may offer may be limited, depending on the number of staff available. Please refer to possible scenarios regarding school closure and authorised absence.

Level 1 = School closed as no staff available. Absence will be automatically authorised for all children.

Level 2 = School open - offering basic childcare with limited number of staff, for parents to use in emergency. Absence will be automatically authorised for all children who do not attend school. All children must bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate clothing. No Breakfast Club or after school clubs.

Level 3 = School open – with majority of staff available, aiming to deliver full service. Parents to send in letter to explain their child’s absence if they feel it is unsafe to travel. This will then be recorded as an authorised absence.

Level 4 = School open – no adverse weather conditions. All children expected to attend school.

In the event of St Teresa’s being closed at Level 1 or open at Levels 2 or 3 we would send you a text message. Please make sure that we have your current mobile phone number. This information would also be shown on the school website.
